A storm moving across Southern California and Arizona produced scattered showers, thundershowers and mountain snow from the Great Basin into the Southwest, while snow also fell in parts of the Great Lakes. In New England, snow left by two days of storms triggered a rush to the ski slopes. Wilmington, Vt., had 30 inches of snow, and Berkshire County in Massachusetts reported 18 inches. A warning of more snow and hazardous driving conditions was issued for the southwestern part of Utah, but conditions were improving across the mountains of Southern California and Nevada, the National Weather Service said.
