The owner of a putty and caulking manufacturing firm near Whittier has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge stemming from the death of a 22-year-old employee who was crushed by a piece of equipment last May. Dennis Ray Aikey, 27, of DRA Industries, was fined $3,400 and placed on three years’ probation for violation of state safety guidelines in the death of Victor Manuel Romo Castro of Sun Valley, who was crushed by a chemical mixer that was not properly secured.
