A football player from Nevada Las Vegas is being sought in connection with a Christmas Eve attempted murder in Hanford, Calif., authorities said.

Andre Dwayne Horn, 20, of Hanford, a junior on the Rebel team, is being sought in the shooting of James Edwards Jr., according to police.

The statement said officers were called to Bob’s Food and Liquor at 11:20 p.m. Dec. 24 by a report of a possible fight, which turned out to involve gunshots.

Officers arrived and found Edwards lying in the front seat of his car with an apparent gunshot wound to the back, the statement said. Edwards is in Sacred Heart Hospital, following surgery.
