Thank you, NBC (or is that N-BBC?), for “A Year in the Life.” What a gut-touching, soul-satisfying relief to find such utter excellence among the drivel. It is sheer perfection from all angles and levels. I hope it goes on to series status; those were most fascinating “ordinary” people. Kiley, as always, was just short of magical. Joe seems to be a perfect role for him, Don Quixote notwithstanding.
