The Yukon government of Canada issued a stern warning to the U.S. government, declaring that American plans to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil development are “unacceptable.” A representative of all 6,000 Yukon Territory Indians also spoke against the plan to a U.S. Department of Interior panel meeting in Anchorage, Alaska.
