Coach Tom Landry of the Dallas Cowboys and his son, Tom Jr., have both undergone successful knee surgery for old football injuries.

Dr. Walter Knight, assisted by his father, Marvin, performed arthroscopic surgery on the left knee of the Cowboys’ coach to remove bone spurs caused when he played for the New York Giants in the 1950s. He is expected to be released today.

Landry’s son, 36, had major surgery for a left knee injury suffered when he played at Duke University. He is expected to be hospitalized for a week.
