FANNING BURT

As a Burt Reynolds fan, I am elated to see he is “working again.” I am not elated to read his comments about how his friends and the film industry let him down.

The faithful fans will rally to his movies as long as he remains the creative, sexy, serious and humorous actor that he has been in the past.

As for Sally Field, I am sorry she commented on Burt at all--I didn’t take her seriously until she acted in “Smokey and the Bandit” with Burt, and I’ve watched her mature as a fine actress since that time.

Too bad her personal life with Reynolds has not brought her to feelings of humility and thankfulness for having shared some probably wonderful experiences with him.
