Burger King on Friday introduced new packages of 1-ounce hamburgers, called Burger Bundles, aimed at providing fast food that “fits today’s active life style.”

“We want our consumers to know that these burgers are easy for small children and adults to eat, easy to share, easy to eat in a car, easy to serve at a party and easy to afford,” said Tom Kupciunas, vice president for advertising and promotion.

The packages are being tested in 11 cities this month after “pre-market testing” in November in Charleston, S.C., and Greensboro, N.C. The company said the testing will be the most extensive in the company’s history.

If the tests are successful, Burger King will make the product available nationwide.

Officials gave no prices for the products, but estimated they would be $1.19 for a three-pack and $2.38 for a six-pack.

“Testing will last as long as necessary,” said Jack Winkler, a company spokesman.
