A 36-year-old expectant father from Santa Barbara won more than $5 million Saturday in the California Lottery’s “Big Spin.” “Our child is not going to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth. It will be a golden spoon,” said computer programmer Tom Dunbar, a “second chance” spinner who made it to the Big Spin by submitting five losing scratch-off tickets. Dunbar, who will receive 20 annual checks of $202,000 after the lottery deducts 20% for federal income taxes, said he plans to buy a new house, boat, computer and baby furniture. Married for 18 months, he and his wife expect their first child in August. The couple now live in an apartment.
