South Pasadena : Office Construction Slated

Share

Developers of a three-story office complex near the intersection of the Pasadena Freeway and Fair Oaks Avenue announced this week that they expect to begin construction in March.

The site, now occupied by Colliau Chevrolet Co., was the center of a dispute in 1983 when voters in a special election defeated a proposal for two high-rise buildings that would have required zoning changes.

Steve Dodge, a principal in Huntington Capital Corp., which is planning the development, said the current proposal complies with existing ordinances and has been approved by the city.

Dodge said the proposed 80,000-square-foot building will cover 2.6 acres, including one block of Magnolia Street. It will be bounded by Fair Oaks Avenue, Mound Avenue and Grevelia Street and will include one block of Magnolia Street.
