Kane, Doan Named Division II All-Americans
Running back Mike Kane and placekicker Mike Doan of Cal State Northridge have been named to Football News magazine’s NCAA Division II All-American team.
Kane, who led the Matadors to an 8-3 record in 1986, was named to the first team. The senior carried the ball 274 times for a Western Football Conference season-record 1,565 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He set a career school record with 3,572 yards rushing and 28 touchdowns.
Doan, a senior, was named to the second team. He converted 34 of 35 extra-point attempts and 14 of 16 field goals.
