213 Tusks, Ivory Seized

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania —
Police have seized 213 elephant tusks and a quantity of carved ivory at Singida, northern Tanzania, Radio Tanzania reported Sunday. The haul, valued at $94,000, was being transported to neighboring Burundi hidden in a truck under sacks of cement and rice.
