“Chaka Khan Live.” Warner Reprise. $24.98. The erratic soul singer is capable of embarrassing lows and stirring highs on stage, so a wisely edited concert video could be just the ticket. But a lack of faith in Khan’s magnetism messes this one up. Instead of straightforward concert coverage, overactive producer-director Marty Callner keeps cutting away from her London show--there are disconcerting segues to her video clips, pointless outside crowd scenes, et al. The strength is Khan’s live singing, where the imperfections in her husky vocals are intriguing. The actual concert footage is competent but unimaginative, and it was filmed back in 1985.
