Micom Systems Profits Drop in 3rd Quarter

Micom Systems, based in Simi Valley, reported that earnings for the third quarter ended Dec. 31 were $3.46 million, down 16.6% from the same quarter a year ago. Sales were up 3% to $50,518,000.

For nine months, Micom’s sales were $144,732,000, compared with $142,695,000 in the previous year. Net income for the nine-month period was $7,926,000, down 13.8% from the year before.

Micom is a supplier of data-communications equipment for office computer networks, and also sells data-communications products by catalogue.

The company said it experienced lower profit margins in part because of problems in starting up some new products.
