U.S. Forest Service Chief Retiring; Aide to Get Post

R. Max Peterson will retire on Feb. 2 as chief of the Forest Service and will be replaced by F. Dale Robertson, the associate chief since 1982, Agriculture Secretary Richard E. Lyng announced Tuesday.
