Olympic gold medalist Doina Melinte and six other Romanian athletes have entered the Times/GTE Indoor Games Feb. 20 at the Forum.
The 800 meter champion’s female teammates include Christiana Matei, 400 meters; Vali Ionescu, long jump, and Mitica Junghiatu, Olympic bronze medalist in the 400-meter hurdles. The men’s team includes high jumpers Sorin Matei and Eugen Papescu, both with jumps over 7-7, and half-miler Petru Dragoescu.
