San Diego College Basketball : USIU Uses Balanced Effort to End 3-Game Losing Streak

Five players scored in double figures to pace the United States International University basketball team to a 107-94 victory over Point Loma Nazerene College Tuesday night in Golden Hall.

USIU (6-10) had lost three straight. Point Loma is 12-5.

Point Loma took its first lead, 27-24, in the final minutes of the first half. USIU rallied to lead at halftime, 46-42. USIU was paced by Russ Heicke (24 points), Joe Yezbak (22 points) and Kelly Andrews (18 points). Mark Moses added 14 and Dexter Magee had 13.

Point Loma’s Steve Bruce led all scorers with 27 points. Bruce was one of three Point Loma players to foul out during the final four minutes.

Master’s College 97, Christian Heritage 72--Scott Goff scored 25 of his 28 points in the first half to lead Master’s at Grossmont College.

Master’s (2-17), from Newhall, Calif., shot 73.6% from the field in the first half to lead, 59-35.

William Cunningham scored 18 points to lead Christian Heritage (4-13). Pete Coeler paced Master’s with 30 points, including 18 in the first half.
