Baltimore Federal Financial, Maryland’s second-largest thrift institution, accepted Home Shopping Network’s offer to acquire the company for $40 million. The transaction is subject to approval by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp. Home Shopping Network of Clearwater, Fla., which pioneered the shop-by-television business, announced a tentative agreement on Tuesday to buy COMB Co., a partner in a rival home-shopping television service.
