Smoking Ban Slated in Annapolis Offices

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —
Mayor Dennis M. Callahan says he will issue an administrative order banning smoking, beginning Feb. 1, in all city buildings.
“We’re concerned about the well-documented effects of other people’s smoking on nonsmokers,” Callahan said Wednesday.
The order, which would apply to city employees and private citizens, does not include provisions for designated smoking areas, anti-smoking programs or a phase-in period to acclimate city workers.
