GOD BLESS ‘AMERIKA’

Linda Mose had a good idea about boycotting the showing of ABC’s “Amerika” (Calendar Letters, Jan. 11), but a better idea for all who want world peace might be to watch it, list all the advertisers and then boycott them.

What astounds me is the pretense that it is not right-wing propaganda when the whole idea originated in the brain of an ultra-conservative (columnist Ben Stein) in retaliation for the showing of “The Day After” which he, by some convoluted reasoning, considered pro-Russian.

The sole aim of “Amerika” is to stir up anti-communist paranoia, and brainwash the public into the right-wing idea that the United Nations is a left-wing organization, and that the only really sensible idea is to nuke the Russians into oblivion.

After all, as every red-blooded American knows, the world belongs to the U.S.A., and everything else is just so much left-wing drivel.
