An agreement to transfer ownership of the Long Beach oil refiner from Triad Energy of Salt Lake City to Skyhigh Resources Ltd. of British Columbia was terminated. The deal stirred controversy because both Triad and Skyhigh are controlled by Saudi Arabian arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi, who played a key role as middleman in the Iran- contras arms scandal. Edgington, which has been a subsidiary of Triad since 1983, is now for sale on a cash basis to qualified buyers, an Edgington official said.
