Mission Viejo : Lobbying Group to Hold Forum on Education
An Orange County residents’ lobbying group for education, instrumental in pushing for more state funds for schools in the early 1980s, is gearing up for more action.
The group, Citizens Action to Save Education (CASE), announced that it is holding a community forum at 7 p.m. on Feb. 3 in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District headquarters to discuss “the negative impact of Gov. Deukmejian’s proposed new budget,” CASE officers said.
In a prepared statement, the organization said: “As a result of the governor’s new budget, public education is in deep trouble.”
CASE officials said that speakers at the forum will discuss effective ways to lobby for more education funds and that sample letters to Sacramento will be available.
The meeting, which will be held in the district board room at 25631 Diseno Drive in Mission Viejo, is open to the public.
