Placentia Man Pleads Innocent to Child Pornography Charges

A Placentia man pleaded not guilty Monday to federal child pornography charges stemming from a raid at his home in December.

George F. Milledge, 46, described by prosecutors as a sales manager for an automotive products firm, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge William J. Rea. A trial date was set for March 31.

Milledge was indicted last month on three counts of violating a federal law prohibiting the mailing or transportation of pornography featuring children. Federal agents seized a briefcase filled with books, magazines, films and videotapes featuring young boys in sexually explicit poses, according to a federal search warrant filed in court.

Milledge’s attorney, William Dougherty, said he planned to file motions to suppress the evidence, since he said it appeared that the agents may have seized some material Milledge knew nothing about.

Acting on a federal search warrant, U.S. postal inspectors and U.S. Customs Service agents raided Milledge’s suburban Kilmer Drive home on Dec. 10, 1986. The next day, Orange County officials closed down an unlicensed day-care center operated in the home by Milledge’s wife. However, prosecutors have said there was no evidence the children at the Milledge home were involved in any illegal activities.
