Microsemi Reports Gain in Net From Operations

Microsemi Corp., a Santa Ana manufacturer of semiconductor products, said earnings of $1.3 million for the first quarter--all from operations--were up 17% from net operating income of $1 million recorded for the first quarter last year.

A $213,000 gain from the sale of Microsemi’s stockholdings in an unaffiliated company brought net income in the year-ago quarter to $1.2 million, said David R. Sonksen, chief financial officer.

Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 28 rose 10% to $9.8 million from $9 million a year ago.
