American Businessphones Reports 2nd-Quarter Rise

American Businessphones Inc., an Irvine supplier of telephone systems to small- and medium-sized companies, reported earnings of $345,000 for its second quarter ended Dec. 31, up 91% from the $180,000 reported a year earlier.
Revenues for the second quarter of fiscal 1987 were up 7.5% to $7.1 million, from $6.6 million in the same time period last year.
Six-month earnings equaled $447,000, nearly doubling the net income of $227,000 posted a year ago. Revenue for the period totaled $13.1 million, an increase of 15% over last year’s $11.4 million.
Separately, the company said it has received a $6.1-million line of credit from Barclay’s Bank of California. The company said the financing will provide funds for “new equipment, inventory and working capital.”
