Soviet police have recovered a 17th-Century masterpiece by Flemish painter Jan Wildens that has been missing from a German museum since World War II, the Soviet newspaper Trud reported Friday. The existence of “The Landscape With Baby Christ and John the Baptist” was discovered after it was stolen from an elderly Moscow couple who never suspected the painting that graced their living room for 30 years was done by an Old Master.
