Huntington Beach : New Dean’s Post at Golden West Filled
Sheila Brazier has been named to the new position of dean of instruction at Golden West College.
In her new role, Brazier will be in charge of all instructional programs and curriculum revisions at the community college. She will also be a key administrative link to the college’s Faculty Senate and all student activities.
Brazier’s appointment was made by the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees. The trustees consolidated two former administrative positions into the new role of dean of instruction.
Brazier, a resident of Huntington Beach, is a native of Surrey, England. She has been with Golden West College since it opened in 1966, teaching geography and ecology. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cambridge University in England. Before coming to the United States, Brazier taught at Homerton College in Cambridge, England.
