A New York man has been ordered by a San Francisco federal court judge to pay a total of $12,980 to Sue Vaccaro of Emeryville for assault and battery, slander, emotional distress and court costs as a result of their argument over use of the first-class rest room on a TWA flight two years ago. John Wellington Stevens, a first-class passenger, allegedly pushed second-class passenger Vaccaro away, shouted at her and used racial slurs before entering the lavatory himself. Vaccaro said a flight attendant had directed her to the first-class facility because the aisle in coach was blocked by food carts.
