Dumain Is Winner in Alamitos Bay Regatta

Kevin Dumain of the host Alamitos Bay Yacht Club became the 52nd recipient if the E.E. Manning Trophy Sunday after defeating 35 entries in the Naples Sabot Class.

The Manning Trophy is the oldest dinghy trophy in Southern California and goes to the winner in the numerically largest class of undecked dinghies 16 feet and under.

Jim Grubbs of the ABYC was awarded the Skimmer Trophy for winning the second largest class, the 31-boat Snipe Class.

Sandra Conde of Leeway Sailing Club of Long Beach was the winner of the Host Club Trophy, awarded to the most deserving individual in the regatta. She is also a Sabot sailors.

The regatta drew 144 boats in nine classes for the five-race regatta.
