Reagan Appoints Aide for Drug Abuse Policy

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan announced the appointment Monday of Dr. Donald Ian Macdonald as his special assistant for Drug Abuse Policy and director of the White House Drug Abuse Policy Office.
Macdonald, 55, has been administrator of the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services. He will retain that post on an interim basis until his replacement is selected.
