Reagan Turns 76; Health Is Excellent
President Reagan, who celebrates his 76th birthday today, is in excellent health one month after prostate surgery but will continue to have an abbreviated schedule for a few more weeks, his spokesman said Thursday.
“The President still has a restricted schedule but his recovery is proceeding exceptionally well. He is gradually assuming a heavier daily schedule,” spokesman Marlin Fitzwater told reporters.
Fitzwater described the President as eager to resume his daily exercise regimen, but added that Reagan’s physicians have counseled him not to hurry his recovery process.
