SDSU Women Beat UCSB, 67-57

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego State women’s basketball team got its third straight victory by defeating UC Santa Barbara, 67-57, Thursday in the Sports Arena.
Debbie Rinder scored a team-high 15 points for the Aztecs. Jessica Haynes added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and reserve Brooke Meadows had 14 points and 8 rebounds.
After SDSU led at halftime, 29-26, the Aztecs concentrated on their inside game in the second half. Meadows scored 13 points in the second half and Haynes scored 10.
The Aztecs, who shot 50% from the field in the second half, shot 49.2% overall. Santa Barbara shot 57.6% in the second half but only 42.4% overall.
SDSU is 6-6 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. and 9-12 overall. Santa Barbara is 1-10 and 4-15.
The Aztecs will play Nevada Las Vegas at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Sports Arena.
