The Region : FBI Probes Sales of Manuals to S. Africa
Three dozen agents of the FBI and U.S. Customs Service searched the offices of a Costa Mesa firm suspected of selling U.S. military flight manuals to the South African government in violation of U.S. sanctions. According to Nadja Posey, a principal of the firm, agents with a search warrant obtained by the FBI removed records from the offices of Newport Aeronautical Sales. The FBI refused to discuss the raids, but Posey said agents told her the firm was under investigation for selling legally obtained military flight manuals to the South African government.
