Who knows what damage to the New Age Movement was caused by ABC’s presentation of “Out on a Limb”? It was obvious that Shirley MacLaine employed “metaphysical mumbo-jumbo,” to use her own words, to rationalize an illicit affair with a married man. It’s amazing how far out on a limb personalities will go to gain acceptance and alleviate guilt.
