The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Zubin Mehta, will perform three concerts Aug. 8-10 at the 10,000-seat Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. The orchestra last performed in the Argentine capital in 1982, three months after the country lost a 74-day war to Britain over the Falkland Islands. At the time, tensions were high between the United States and Argentina because of U.S. support for Britain in the war.
