A tour helicopter with five people aboard crashed in shallow water 150 yards off Honolulu’s Waikiki Beach. Bystanders brought the five people ashore after the copter crashed shortly after takeoff from nearby Westin Ilikai Hotel. One victim, a 27-year-old woman, was in guarded condition at Queen’s Medical Center with neck and abdominal injuries. Queen’s also was treating a man who asked that no information be given out about him. The hospital would not disclose the name of either patient but said both were tourists. Three other men in the copter--Charles Mormino, 40, David Wiedenbeck, 31, and a man 41 years old--were taken to other hospitals.
