Local News in Brief : Meeting Scheduled on Burbank Airport Plans
- Share via
Administrators of Burbank Airport have scheduled a public meeting at a Burbank school Wednesday night to hear comments about their plans to build a new terminal.
The meeting is part of the process leading to publication of environmental impact reports by state and federal agencies.
The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority is under instructions by the Federal Aviation Administration to replace its terminal, built 56 years ago, because it is closer to the runways than modern safety regulations allow.
Planning for the terminal, not expected to be completed until the 1990s, is based on projections of 7.3 million passengers annually in the year 2000, more than twice the current level.
The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Luther Burbank Junior High School, 3700 Jeffries Ave.
