Nelson/Padberg and Mira Communications Sign Joint-Venture Pact

Nelson/Padberg Communications and Mira Communications, two Newport Beach public relations firms, said that they have entered into a joint-venture agreement which should eventually lead to the formation of a new company.

Thomas K. Mira, president of Mira Communications, said the two companies will initially operate as separate entities while working on common projects. Mira Communications will provide communications coaching for the clients, and Nelson/Padberg will conduct the day-to-day business normally associated with public relations, such as the preparation of press releases.

Within six months, Mira said, Mira and Nelson/Padberg will combine assets and form a new company, which will be renamed the Newport Group. He said all offices currently operated by the two companies will be kept open.
