A group calling itself the Concerned Viewers Against ABC Miniseries “Amerika” was expected to demonstrate against the controversial program in front of KABC-TV’s Hollywood studios late Thursday. “We believe this material is very inflammatory and derogatory against the United Nations and the U.S.S.R and exacerbates the problems between the two countries,” said Dick Meyers, a protest organizer from San Pedro. The self-proclaimed peace activist, who claims he has viewed a bootlegged, 39-minute promotional copy of the series, said the program also is “an attack against the people struggling for peace in this country because they are accused (in the series) of weakening the country by demonstrating.”
