SATURDAY LETTERS : GOODBY TO GOOD OLD KMET

Share

Robert Hilburn, show some respect and mourn KMET’s passing for what it is: the undeserved death of a great station.

I was a listener for nine years and never thought of KMET as “an irrelevant spot on the FM dial,” but more like one of the few L.A. stations with both good music and listenable deejays.

Maybe KMET “ignored” country, punk and black music, but then again I haven’t heard any Rolling Stones on KJLH lately or even a little Sex Pistols on KZLA. After all, it was a rock ‘n’ roll station, not a potpourri. And besides, Mr. Hilburn, KMET played Springsteen all the time !

Little bit of heaven 94.7, you’ll be missed.
