I’m impressed with the sensitivity of The Times in running Scott Ostler’s column on marathon entrants. While relatively few individuals survive in sports literally, vast numbers survive on sports figuratively. There is much more to athletics than “competition.” Participate and you may find the therapeutic results immeasurable.
