The burned wreckage of a Canadian-registered light plane and the charred body of its pilot were found near a mountain peak in the Angeles National Forest above Monrovia, authorities said. The single-engine Beech Bonanza 35 piloted by Robert Hutchinson, 52, of British Columbia, was spotted by a sheriff’s helicopter in dense brush just below Monrovia Peak, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Pete Fosselman. Hutchinson, who authorities say may have flown into the side of the 5,412-foot mountain because of poor visibility, was reported missing after leaving Palm Springs for Oxnard to have maintenance work done on the craft.
