The “boss” has moved into the building at 300 S. Grand Ave. on Bunker Hill.

Metropolitan Structures West Inc., managing partner of California Plaza Partnership, will occupy Suite 3200 and its 10,000 square feet in One California Plaza, headquarters for the development.

Better to keep an eye on things, says William Hatch, president of Metropolitan Structures West, as “we finalize plans for Phase II.” One California Plaza is the first of three office towers planned for the $1.2-billion mixed-use complex on 11.2 acres.

It is one of the first projects in the nation bringing together business and culture, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, in one environment. Upon completion, it will have 3.5 million square feet of office space in three towers, a hotel, dance gallery, three residential towers, restaurants, retail and specialty shops, parks, plazas and entertainment areas.
