Bargain to Europe

Share

The small ad in the Travel Section last October read: “London for $499, includes round-trip air fare and a week in a first-class hotel with continental breakfast, plus seven-day Explorer Pass on the London transit system and a half-day sightseeing tour.” There must be a catch. Wrong. Not only was the DollarStretcher trip one of the year’s biggest travel bargains but everything was of a high caliber. It was no phony airline, either. It was a British Airtours (British Airways) 747 flight. Service was better than a normally scheduled flight my wife and I had taken a couple of years earlier on another airline.

It had to be the bargain of the year for European travel. But even with that special deal no longer available, DollarStretcher still will take you to London on the same general schedule for $599. And if travelers decide to spend extra time there, they can keep their hotel room for $16 per person a night. A 21-day advance purchase is in effect. DollarStretcher: 11707 San Vicente Blvd., Los Angeles 90049, (213) 820-3535.
