Charlie Lea, one-time ace of the Montreal pitching staff, signed a minor-league contract with the Expos’ Triple-A team in Indianapolis.
Lea, 31, who missed the last two seasons with a rotator cuff injury, will attend Montreal’s major league training camp beginning next week in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Lea last pitched in 1984, when he posted a 15-10 mark and a 2.89 ERA. He was the National League’s starting and winning pitcher in the All-Star game that year.
