World champion Marjo Matikainen of Finland, hampered by illness earlier this season, won her second medal of the World Nordic ski Championship at Obertsdorf, West Germany, by winning the women’s five-kilometer cross-country race.

Mitikainen, silver medalist Friday in the 10-kilometer race, ignored lightly falling snow to finish in 14 minutes 45.7 seconds ahead of Soviet Anfissa Retzova, who was timed in 14:49.3.

The bronze medalist was Evi Kratzer of Switzerland, who finished in 14:52.5.
