1st Woman Secretary to Cabinet

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan has selected Nancy Risque, a former White House official who now works for a Washington political consulting firm, as secretary to the Cabinet, the White House announced today.
Spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said Risque will be the first woman to hold the position, which carries the rank of assistant to the President. She will succeed Alfred H. Kingon, who has been nominated as ambassador to the European Community.
