San Marino : New Tennis Courts Denied

Share

The City Council unanimously denied San Marino Tennis Foundation’s request to build two tennis courts at Lacy Park at its Feb. 11 meeting. Council members, four of whom belong to the foundation, said additional courts are not needed but that controversy surrounding the issue has prompted them to study uses of the park, which has been closed to the public on weekends since 1978. Before the council vote, the Tennis Foundation said it wanted its request tabled and that it favored a study of broader uses for San Marino’s only park.
