An intense search was under way for a Reedley man missing on an extended ski trip to a remote section of Sequoia National Park. Park spokeswoman Irma Buchholz said two helicopters, a dog team and ground crews were taking part in the effort to find Robert Simmons, 32, an experienced mountaineer. Simmons, a former ski instructor in the park, left alone Wednesday from Pear Lake on a ski trip to Triple Divide Peak at the 12,650-foot level about 12 miles east of Wolverton. A storm swept through the southern Sierra on Thursday and Friday.
