Climber From Calif. Dies in Fall

LAS VEGAS —
A California man who operated a climbing school and guide service was killed when he fell 150 feet while climbing in the scenic Red Rock Canyon area west of here, Metro Police said today. A companion was stranded nearly 12 hours as overnight temperatures dropped to freezing. The Clark County coroner’s office identified the victim as Karl Heinz Jenkewitz, 34, of Tahoe Paradise, Calif.
